ARE YOU THE FRIEND OR THE ENEMY ?

July 27th, 2010

We are hearing a lot of words from Washington. We are seeing the opposite in actions. The administration opened up more offshore drilling then two weeks later the BP oil rig mysteriously blew up. We hear of disapproval of the Lockerbie bomber being released then we learn the white house encouraged the release of the terrorist. We watched the news unfold of as the Fort hood killings were connected to terrorists. Then we watched as they downplayed the connection. We hear the words that prevent the border closure in Arizona. Next we learn they keep finding copies of the Koran are being found on the trails leading into this country. The white house was reported to deny funds to flood victims in Oklahoma or was it Arkansas. Hard to keep track there is so much happening so fast. Suddenly we hear of millions going to Islamic countries. Now we have another oil well spilling into the Gulf that was mysteriously hit by a boat. Another tidbit is while demonizing Oil companies they may get a bail out. We can’t drill in off our shores but we hear we can fund drilling in the waters of south America which makes nation destroying George Soros a few more billion. If our drilling is bad for the Globe then maybe South America is on another planet?
Who is the enemy? Who are the terrorists? Is the fox guarding the hen house? We hear the words and they don’t line up with the actions. Remember these two phrases from the left.” I keep my friends close and my enemies closer” and “The ends justify the means”. Under those two philosophies everything is justified and everyone is a possible or eventual victim.
Connect the dots Americans. Obama just spoke on creating jobs today. Does that mean we will see more job losses?

What Is So Progressive About Progressivism?

July 26th, 2010

As I look around and listen to some of the people on the TV (for as long as I can stand it), I keep hearing that Republicans are standing the way of progress. They are not geting behind ideas that move this country forward. First, all progress is not forward. Second, what are they doing that is new? First they nationalized GM. Well France Nationalized Renault in 1945. And Romania later did it in the 1960′s. With Financial aid for colleges now under Government control because of the Health care Bill (why was that in there?) I found that Argentina did that in 1918.

Oliver Stone said we should nationalize oil companies. People applauded this as a new idea. Except he probably got this idea on his recent trip to South America. Chile Nationalized all Copper and Mining Industries in 1972. And I can find proof that the Nationalization of privately owned companies came about in Cuba in the 1960′s. So I ask: How is Nationalizing Health care, Oil, Universities, Car Companies, progressive? (I used a small p. You know, going forward, step by step) These ideas are old and done in Dictatorial regimes. And nations that don’t have near the standard of living that we in America have.

Nationalized Healthcare was tried in the 1930′s. Controling the airwaves was tried in the 1950′s And as far as the television media, well they are already Progressive.

Another point being made is that if you follow the teaching of Mao, Marx, Keynes, Alinsky you are somehow superior intellectually. But if you counter with Friedman, Smith, De Tocqueville, and Goldwater you are stuck in the past and want to continue the status quo and employ ideas that don’t work. Well libs, Marxism has never worked, it killed, some by starvation, 10′s of thousands of people. Mao similar results. Keynes, well we are reliving his failed philosophy that extended the great depression. By the way he is the genius that said that if you give the government a dollar, it will produce a dollar fifty. Dumbest thing I have ever heard. Nancy Pelosi sound bites excluded.

Friedman’s philosophy tried in the 80′s worked. The 90′s were a time of great peace time prosperity and Clinton under the guidance of Dick Morris and the Contract with America gets credited with that. The Free market is the greatest liberator of individualism and has produced some of the greatest and most used products in the world. Marx never did that nor did any other lefty philosophy. Quit with the old tired and failed policies. Let’s try something new like less government regulation on businesses. Just a suggestion I am sure someone will counter that one.

THE UK IS REPORTED TO HAVE ADMITTED SOCIALIZED MEDICINE ISNT WORKING SO WELL?

July 26th, 2010

Fox and Friends reports the UK is increasing their rationing of health care. According to the report the system has its problems and needs help. In addition to sending terminal cancer patients home to deal with own care thousands of jobs will be lost. It was also reported that funds will be allocated to primary care physicians to administer health care. My opinion is they are shifting the funds to the small clinics to do their rationing for them. Their socialized medicine apparently isn’t working and they admit it.

This leads me to question our liberal voters. Now that We have let the socialist agenda pattern our health care after England’s how do you like the “CHANGE”? I “HOPE” you “CHANGE” your view of what you thought was the Democratic party. Ask any Cuban that fled Castro’s “Change” how they like Socialism. If we need so much change why had people from all over the world flocked to are borders and shores and no one wanted to leave. Did you notice I said “had “and “wanted to”. Many Americans are now picking a new country to move to as we move toward Marxism.

The Republicans Want to Play. They Just Want Different Rules.

July 24th, 2010

The research for this post took me all over I went to the Daily Kos Wall Street Journal, Recovery.gov, and finally the New York Times.  All in a search to find the answer to the question: Do Republicans only care about the rich?  In summary of all stops the answer is yes.  But the ultra-rich (the upper 1% as the Daily Kos labels it) care about Obama.  Let me explain paraphrasing author of Richistan Robert Frank.  The rich, who make $1 million to $10 million vote Republican because taxes are a driving issue of who they support.  The ultra-rich, who make $10 million to $100 million, vote Democrat because they care about social issues.  These include the environment and health-care.  So there you have it.  Defined by one guy the answer that comes up every two years.  Can we put it to rest now and debate the issue of the waste, fraud and abuse of the Stimulus money, the ever increasing unemployment, the fact that the will of the people only count if you are in the handful cherry-picked by Obama to stand behind him while he lies speaks?  No?  Then let me further illustrate.
The Stimulus Package AKA The Reinvestment Act money that has been spent so far has rewarded Union Bosses, funded ACORN, before they were defunded, (and refunded through Financial Reform), support stupid environmental projects, and pretended to fix roads.  Oh and less I forget, caused numerous hours of red tape for some of the simplest of jobs.  Which have yet to be started. I also researched what the stimulus package has done for the little guy.  You know the generalization used to destroy this great country.  “The Stimulus Package increased the number of households to receive tax credits (breaks) to wipe-out Federal Income liabilities.” (NY Times April 13th 2010)  That number is 47%.  Ok.  So 53%  of tax payers pay 100% of the taxes.  That is the New York Times libs!  In fairness they did contend that Federal Income tax is not the only taxes Americans pay, but I want to play by the “get the rich, get ‘em” crowd’s rules.
I also researched tax breaks for the rich.  I contend that a decrease in the percentage of taxes paid by the rich is not a tax break it is just not a tax increase.  Using the Nancy Pelosi logic “if you let a tax decrease lapse and the taxes return to where it was it is not an increase.”  So far am I following the rules?  The “breaks” that I found was based on if you were a successful business, used philanthropy to better your community, and can claim a yacht as a second home.  Let me extrapolate.  The expenses it takes to run a profitable business can be deducted.  OK.  It won’t come off the bottom line giving the business more opportunity to hire more people to bring in more profits.
I know I know I live in some fantasy-land if allowing the business to become more profitable will translate directly into jobs.  It is just more money they can use to light their cigars with and use as bread-crumbs so they won’t get lost.  Not anymore of a fantasy-land than the person who said that Unemployment Benefits creates jobs(again Pelosi).
Charitable contributions.  I know the greedy corporate fat-cats only do that to hide wealth from the government.  However the foundation that gives the most money here in Colorado in Wells Fargo.  Hide money or not libs, the money goes to countless charities that need help.  The rich also get tax breaks for buying homes that actually appreciate.  WOW!  How evil of them.  And they can claim their yacht as a second home.  Yachts can be as small as 25ft, close to a dinghy.  Thought I threw the libs a bone on that one didn’t ya?  Not a chance.
My point is this, Obama is destroying the country using class-warfare.  I am not the first to say it, but attribution is a little tough, he says he is for the little guy, wants to expand unemployment benefits. Because he is contributing to it.  He is going to limit your healthcare coverage, give preferential treatment to those who support him, raise your energy bill (necessarily), raise your tax bill, if you pay taxes, make it hard for you to find a job in coal mining, oil and gas, or anything else that isn’t government or Union.  All the Republicans wanted was 34 billion cut from the current budget before green-lighting an extension.  But because the Democrats are the party of NO.  It couldn’t be done.

WE CANT SIT IDLY BY AND MAKE THE DEVOTED SERVICE OF VETERANS BE IN VAIN

July 23rd, 2010

Chills ran through my heart and soul as I watched the video below. Its time we take a stand. Those whose family members fought for you need you to prevent it from being in vain. Christians that think the “Separation of Church and State was intended to be what it has been distorted into need to think twice. Can a prayerful Godly farmer sit on the porch and pray that the corn will grow without planting the seed? God can do what he chooses, but God doesn’t work that way. He wants action behind the prayers. If he didn’t Judea/Christians would still be in their ancestors homelands living in poverty and tyranny.

Thank our veterans and God fearing ancestors by getting off the porch where you think it is safe and act accordingly. You will fight back. The question is… will you fight while you have a chance of victory or will you when you know you’ll lose in spite of your efforts.

LUNCH WITH SAINT BETTY- BATTLE OF THE BUDGET

July 22nd, 2010

Scott, since you liked the first one, I thought you might like this one too!

Note: This was written over a year ago, and although the content is Connecticut specific, the trend I addressed was and is a nation-wide trend.

“I’m buying a house!” We were at our usual Saturday lunch at Antonio’s and I watched Saint Betty’s face, as comprehension slowly settled in and she went from blank to aglow with pride. I love making my Mom happy, although I must admit I am not at all sure that I can pull this off. Anyone who has known me for any length of time can tell you that I have always dreamed of owning my own home. I’ve never even been close to achieving that goal, but I watched with pride as each of my three children bought their first homes, and that alone was enough to fulfill my own dream.

But every day I hear and read that it’s now a “Buyer’s Market.” Prices and interest rates are at an all time low, and I fear that if I don’t give it my best shot now, I’ll probably never have another chance. Yet I also hear that things may get worse before they get better; and I heard that even President Obama recently alluded to a possible Depression. That makes me very nervous.

Against my objections, Saint Betty insisted on paying for our lunch”to help me save money for my house.” I tried to fight what I knew was a losing battle, it’s not like her financial position is any better than mine, but as usual Mommy prevailed, and when the battle was over, our favorite waitress, Jody, was rewarded by my Mom with what I am sure was a generous tip.

Right now in Connecticut, there is a much bigger battle going on between our Republican Governer, M Jodi Rell, and our Democratic legislature over how to resolve what seems to me to be an outrageous government debt (known in political parlance as “the deficit”).

It seems to me that money is at the heart of so many arguments. I can relate to that; I think most people can relate to that. I don’t know a single person who has enough money; everyone is in debt, and they say that most people are just one or two paychecks away from being homeless. That is really scary.

From what I understand, Governor Rell is standing firm on balancing the budget by cutting spending rather than by raising taxes. I appreciate that; it seems to me that I already lose an awfully big chunk of my paycheck to taxes. I really can’t afford to lose any more of it, so how the new budget for Connecticut is resolved is of great concern to me.

As a single mom for most of my children’s lives, money was always an issue. By the time they became (and, thank God, remain) financially independent, my credit was destroyed. It seemed that as soon as I would come close to paying off my bills, I would find myself unemployed and my financial situation would go right down the tubes again. Right now, I am in pretty good shape, but that could change in a heartbeat

During those times when the money I earned did not equal the money I spent, I had two choices: I could find ways to spend less or I could get a second (and at times a third) job. More time working never did appeal to me, so my choice was always to first find ways to spend less. This was never easy as I was a pretty frugal person to begin with, and the new budget usually involved eliminating the things that my children wanted but, in my opinion, did not necessarily need. And the older they got, the more it seemed they “needed.” I understood that, and I think it upset me as much as it upset them when I had to say no.

Connecticut has a huge deficit right now and I don’t see that our legislature has any more options to fix that problem than I ever did. Their only choices are to either cut spending or to get a second job. The trouble is that the one and only source of income our government has is tax revenue. So the way I think it would work is that if Connecticut chooses the increased income path (ie, raising taxes) rather than the spending cut path, my taxes (and everyone else’s) will go up, so I’m the one who will have to get a second job to compensate for the bigger chunk of my paycheck that I lose! And that second paycheck will also have a bigger chunk taken out: working more for less? No way!

In her “State of the State” address in January of 2009 (I think), Jodi Rell exactly expressed my feelings to the General Assembly: “As families struggle to pay their monthly bills, so will we. As they cut back on expenses and forego new purchases, so must we. And we must do it at a time when, as is the paradox of government, more and more families will be looking to us for help… I know how easy it is for us to be overwhelmed by the incessant drumbeat of bad economic news. It hangs about us like a tight-fitting cloak… This will be a time of shared sacrifice. That which we would like to do will be set aside for that which we must do…But we do need to make cuts and we do need to prepare our state to make the most of the economic recovery when it comes – and it will come.” About a month later, Ms Rell presented her two year budget proposal to the legislature.

This strategy of cutting spending rather than raising taxes was not a new one for our Governor. According to a press release from Rell’s office in June of 2008: “Governor M. Jodi Rell today announced she is ordering Fiscal 2009 budget cuts of 3 percent to 5 percent at state agencies and commissions to offset an anticipated shortfall of about $150 million in the fiscal year that begins July 1.” She ordered a state hiring freeze, a state purchasing freeze, sought reductions in state gasoline usage, banned out of state travel and took other actions. We averted the red ink and instead ended the year with a modest surplus.

So it worked once; why not try it again this year? It just makes sense to me!

So, as goes the process, Jodi (I will probably get in trouble; I don’t think you’re supposed to call a Governor by her first name, but that’s how I think of her) submitted her no new tax budget and the Democrats submitted their budget revisions in response.

Boy oh boy! Was Jodi ever mad! She released a statement on April 2, 2009 that said: “The Democrat’s budget almost defies description. There are phantom budget cuts and astonishing tax increases. They do nothing to address the bloat of state government…And they are borrowing – yes, borrowing, to close this year’s budget deficit. It’s as if they have just given up…Just ring it up on the state’s credit card. No cuts needed, no questions asked. Seven years of interest payments by the families of Connecticut…It’s the most fiscally irresponsible scheme I have seen in years at the Capitol. This budget totally ignores what is going on in our state, in our nation, across the globe. It’s as if they don’t know we are in the deepest recession in generations. People are losing their jobs, their homes, their hope…They don’t get it. They want what they want. And they’ll raise taxes, by the billions, to get it. I don’t understand how they can raise taxes by $3 billion in an economy like this – with so many families hurting… There are 3 months left in this fiscal year. Work with me. Cut with me. Show leadership. Don’t abdicate your responsibility. Too much borrowing and too much spending by Washington, Detroit, and Wall Street have caused the problems we are facing. Too much borrowing and too much spending in Hartford will only make matters worse.”

Whew! I’m glad I wasn’t on the switch end of that! All I could think was; $3 billion in new taxes and on top of that they want to borrow money! In all the periods of my life when I did not have enough money to pay my bills, it never once occurred to me to borrow money! If I couldn’t pay the bills I already had, how on earth could I pay yet another one? I am not a politician and I am not an economist, but to me it just doesn’t make sense!

Well, Jodi apparently did not give up, she got over her anger and she submitted a second budget proposal. I was praying, I gotta tell you, because I simply cannot afford to pay any more taxes. $3 billion! Yikes.

And then one day recently I was on my way to visit my favorite client, Lee, and I was listening to the Jim Vicevich show on the radio (as usual). I heard that the General Assembly had ended their session. What really took me back was to hear that not only had they not resolved the budget issue, they had barely even talked about it!

I heard a lot about what they did talk about and they approved a lot of good programs. But I thought the budget was at the top of their agenda, and until they figure something out, my house dream remains just that…an unlikely “castle in the air.” When I got home from work that evening, I submitted my application for a weekend job at Home Depot, just in case.

The legislature is now in “Special Session,” and I don’t know what will happen. I don’t know and I am very nervous.

I may lose the house I never had, and my lunches with Saint Betty may soon come to an end. After all, if I have to help pay the $3 billion they are talking about, I won’t be able to afford my one meal out a week and Antonio’s may not be able to afford the additional taxes they will surely be asked to pay. I hope our lawmakers will consider people like me, Saint Betty, and the Antonios – we’re all certainly willing to pay our fair share, but there’s a limit to our resources. I like the way Governor Rell put it: “Too much borrowing and too much spending by Washington, Detroit, and Wall Street have caused the problems we are facing. Too much borrowing and too much spending in Hartford will only make matters worse.”

INSPIRED BY THE LAST SPEECH I HEARD FROM THE LEFT

July 21st, 2010

Scott Key:

As big government increases they tout a purpose of protecting us from dishonest and unfair men and businesses. So what if big government is unfair or tyrannical as Castro is. Why do Cubans flee from Castro. He spoke the same message that lead to death destruction and mass poverty. Who will protect us from the men of big government? Man is corrupt or corruptible. A true free market is not. The left wants you to believe that capitalism is wrong and not fair. They say that because of all the mess we face from the economy. Many may think we are trying to escape a free market system but we haven’t seen the free market in nearly 100 years. We have slowly slid under the effects of “Crony Capitalism”. A system where politics and big business are in bed together is what we have been under since segregationist Woodrow Wilson was in office. True capitalism or the free market is not corruptible. It by virtue of its existence weeds out corruption and produces more for less. It is a mathematical formula. Example: My tomatoes sell better because they are grown with care and taste better. If the law makers say I can’t sell my tomatoes because the guy down the street isn’t selling enough or because he is a friend of the lawmakers you lose. You only get tomatoes of a lesser quality. If you think for yourself you can easily see the truth. If you let the elite and rich lawmakers think for you, God save us from our own ignorance.

MARK FIORE, NOT SURE AT THIS POINT IF HE IS AN UPSET LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE, BUT HE DEFINATELY KNOWS OBAMA IS NOT BEING HONEST.

July 18th, 2010

I will decide later what side mark stands on, The right or left. The following animation basically says he stands for honesty.

California: Less Liberal than Ever Before?

July 16th, 2010

Folks, I have some very good news to share with you! One of the recent posts made on Carly Fiorina’s Facebook page showed a chart from this website, www.cookpolitical.com. The chart shows the political status of each state. The standings are Republican, Democratic, or Toss-Up. The good news is that California’s political field status has been changed to…TOSS-UP! Yes, California seems to have become a “swing state”. Plus, she now has a slight lead over Barbara Boxer in the opinion polls! Looks like things are starting to light up in the “Golden State”. That is all. Thank you.

DENEEN BORELLI THE ANTIVENOM FOR RACE BAITING

July 16th, 2010

Flippers keep your eye on Deneen Borelli. Her appearance this morning on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom w/Bill Hemmer and Martha MacCallum was in my opinion a pinnacle in the ginned up race baiting war we are so concerned about. The policies of today’s politics are poison. It is being fed to the leftist socialist base. Deneens fact based rebuttal was so welcome and anticipated. Deneen was the antivenom. If there was a lib flipping meter somewhere the needle just broke as it slammed against the peg. Her appearance blew me away. The opposing statements to what’s his name were spot on. This ginned up racism from the left shows they have nothing. It is obvious the left IS desperate and have resorted to driving a wedge between races. Deneen you are just what the doctor ordered. You have my attention. If flipping libs is your passion please pass this link to all. Your thoughts and comments are not only wanted but needed.
