LIBERALS BOYCOTT THEIR HEALTH

August 22nd, 2009

Due to John Mackey’s OP-Ed posted in the Wall street journal against Obamacare, the left are boycotting his “Whole Foods” stores.

Now that statement bears some examination.  I have learned to examine details over the years.  This is probably learned behavior from a more conservative home life and reinforced repeatedly by Pastor Ricky Stepp of Christ Fellowship Church in Dawsonville, Georgia.  Details speak volumes if you listen.  Pastor Ricky can take a detail such as a disciple cutting off the ear of a roman soldier and discern much more than obvious.  The apostle didn’t have to fetch the sword.  The mere fact that the sword was already with him is a sermon in itself.

Now back to main topic.  I advocate eating healthy.  It costs more but the result will cost far less.  My grandfather often said “dollar waitin’ on a dime”. That’s southern for “penny wise and pound foolish”.  I admire Mackey and his wisdom.  Many might have thought Whole Foods being more expensive would be unsuccessful.  John Mackey proved different.  He is a very intelligent man.  He uses common sense that educated idiots are void of.  I also admire his selfless nature.  He not only decided to look beyond the response of the boycott when commenting against the health care reform bill but also took a yearly salary of one dollar in 2007.  He did what needed to be done.  I don’t know the reason but I know he was looking ahead and not thinking of instant gratification.

Looking past the obvious is wisdom we all need.  Now let’s refer back to the details in the first sentence.  Obviously, those boycotting haven’t considered not buying from Mackey means they are jeopardizing themselves.  Where will they get their healthy food?  Will they resort to an unhealthy diet?  Will they seek out a less convenient source, and will they find one?  Perhaps the boycotting faction hasn’t thought this through.  Just like, they haven’t looked past their noses in regards to supporting a bad bill.  Even if the wording of H.R 3200 is changed and seems harmless, look deeper.  Have they read it?  Could they understand it?  Perhaps they heard Obama and his gang smile and say trust us.  Do they consider the source?  When deciding on health care reform all should examine the tract record of the government sticking their nose in our business.  Social security, the postal service, Medicaid, Medicare, the list failures and inefficiencies goes on and on.  Now look at the present administration and their references.  Cash for clunkers is a disaster.  Many auto dealers wonder if they will get the money owed by the program.  They were told it would be a ten-day wait.  Many are still waiting and it’s been three weeks.  The administration missed when predicting the stimulus money would cap unemployment at 8.5%, it is now above 9.4.  The deficit prediction is off by 2 trillion.  Now let’s look at the promises and mismanagement.  Obama said no lobbyists would be on his cabinet.  We have several.  He appointed a tax cheat as secretary of the treasury.  As a senator, he stated how he would accomplish a single payer health care system when speaking to the ACLU.  Now he says he changed his mind that we don’t have to worry about a single payer system.  Maybe once he gets his foot in the door he’ll change his mind again.  He did promise change.  He also promised he would reach across the aisle.  Not only are the republicans locked out of meetings, their ideas are ignored.  What’s worse is Obama’s administration saying the republicans are the party and have no new ideas.  They have many ideas just not the ones the left want.  They also blame bush for the economy.  That too is a big lie.  The democrats controlled congress since 2006.  Clinton repealing the Glass Stegall act was a major factor during his years.  Obama and others on the left along with A.C.O.R.N. strong-armed the banks into making bad loans.  Every time the right warned congress of the pending housing crisis, the left stalled them.  What’s worse is the democrats were in bed with AIG, Fannie may, Freddie Mac.  They didn’t inherit the economy they were the main players in creating it.

Now back to Whole foods.  If the liberals can vote with their dollars so can we.  John Mackey has my business from now on.  Those against the health care bill are roughly 60%.  We are bigger demographic.  Let the liberals reap what they sow while the conservatives eat healthy.  As a Christian, I believe tithing is very important.  Also important is where we plant the 90%.

Whole Foods is a grocery store for rich whiney liberals. Similiar groceries can be purchased at less expensive stores for a third or half price than at Whole Foods. Whole Foods is nothing but a place for liberal to shop so that they can feed good about themselves.

Its all about the math. If you can save money or break even or even spend a little more buying from whole foods shouldnt you support a man that supports your conservative views? How far will you have to drive to find the healthier foods that have lower prices? How much is the travel expense? (not just gas but all travel expense, how much per mile do you spend to operate a vehicle?) How much is your time worth? Do the math in all things. How will your quality of life be if you invest your money in people that contribte to the leftist policies or dont invest in peolpe that support conservative policies?

    Short sightedness is blindness.
