WILL GOVERNMENT PAY YOUR DOCTOR LIKE IT PAYS CAR DEALERS?
August 19th, 2009
Car dealers were told they would be paid within ten days for the “cash for clunkers” program. After two weeks, only 2% have their money. Is that how they will pay for your health care? In order to cover the uninsured including illegal aliens more doctors will be needed. How many doctors will be recruited if they can’t be paid promptly? How many current doctors will change professions? More patients and less doctors or health care professionals will ultimately lead to rationing.
This bill should be killed. Government restrictions on current health insurers need to be dropped and the free market needs to do what it does best, compete, innovate and reduce costs. Free enterprise is what made this country great. The free market is a formula for high quality at the lowest possible cost. The concept of free enterprise left to its own devices will cause improvement. Throw man’s greed into the equation and witness his elimination. If the government is allowed to restrict private competition by, making the playing field uneven, mediocrity will be rewarded while quality and value are punished, restricted, and eventually eliminated.
A perfect example is the delivery of first class mail. It is a federal offense for a private company to deliver first class mail. In addition, the mailboxes we buy and place on our land are considered federal property. Any private companies using these are in violation of federal statute. The postal service is broke. They won’t even guarantee delivery. It’s a gamble. Free enterprise is outlawed and poor quality is the outcome.
Is this how we want our health care? It doesn’t matter what promises come out of Washington. They will first get their foot in the door, then their knee, and so on. We need to close the door on government health care no matter what the name is this week. If you think health care reform or health care, insurance reform is about health think again. I highly recommend going to our “Liberal or Socialist” page and spending 10 minutes listening to Reagan discuss what government health care is all about. This audio was recorded in 1961. It’s as though Reagan were alive today witnessing this big mess of false promises. How did he know? Simple, he knew history. It was Edmund Burke who said “those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it”. How many knew the present housing crisis has occurred six times in this country? The reason why it keeps happening is most people are uninformed.
Let’s not repeat the cash for clunkers failure in relation to health care. I also encourage you to listen to Reagan’s words and tell others about them. Better yet, refer them to this link. http://flipalib.com/liberal-or-socialist/.
